Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information RWG Engineering Ltd ("we", "us") collects through rwgengineering.co.uk, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We are the data controller for that information.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus basic analytics:

• Enquiry details. When you submit an enquiry form we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you provide one) and the content of your message.
• Analytics data. If — and only if — you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you reached the site. See ourCookie Policy.

We do not ask for payment card details through this website, and we do not operate user accounts on it.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To respond to your enquiry and quote for work — because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and for our legitimate interest in running the business.
• To keep a record of enquiries and work carried out — for our legitimate interests, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
• To understand how the site is used — on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Web3Forms — delivers enquiry form submissions to us by email.
• Google Analytics — website analytics, only where you have accepted analytics cookies.
• Our hosting and email providers — who store the site and the messages we receive.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to two years so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us. Records relating to work we have carried out are kept for six years, to meet accounting and contractual obligations. Analytics data is retained by Google for up to 14 months.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our using it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
